A medical scribe is responsible for partnering with a physician to ease the burden of data gathering, EHR documentation, and ensuring documentation compliance. The impact of these duties is to increase practice productivity, improve patient throughput, impact charge capture rates, and provide a positive return on investment.

Scribe.ology has a 3-tier approach to training and recruiting scribes for medical practice. This requires completion of online learning modules, skills testing, and on-site performance assessments.

Although formal training is not a requirement to become a scribe, we do highly recommend applicants have knowledge or background in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Past clinical experience is a bonus.

We pride ourselves on working with our scribes and their academic schedules! We have a standard process that we utilize to ensure your schedule is affected as little as possible. However, this may also impact your eligibility for scheduling at our facilities.

Part-time employees are required to work up to 3 shifts per week. Depending on your assigned site, the shift lengths can vary from 8-12 hours. Work availability would vary depending on facility scheduling and current staff coverage.

Overnight shifts are NOT required. However, staffing has limitations for how many scribes can cover daytime shifts as we do not want to cause unnecessary competition between peers. Due to limited availability caused by school schedules or extracurricular activities, you may need to offer night availability for more opportunity in scheduling.

Shift times vary based on the facility you are assigned to, and it’s important to note that most facilities operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shift times can span 8-12 hours and cannot be divided into smaller portions.

We are continually expanding and actively seeking motivated individuals who aspire to grow within the organization and take on future leadership roles!
